Any idea when the new app will be available from Comcast that will allow users to ditch set-top boxes and switch to an app embedded within Samsung Smart TV's and Roku devices?

Moca filters wouldn't come into play because those boxes don't utilize a moca connection. But being in apartment complex you may want to have a tech out to check your lines for ingress and the new box.

Does anyone know what is the minimum TV package required where Xfinity will still allow you to have an HD DVR?  Need to know my income may be dropping drastically.


MLB Extra Innings Problem with game 1 HD feed

The MLB Extra Innings game 1 HD feed (Channel 1750 On Comcast in Nashville) has had a problem for the last week+. The feed is a 16:9 picture that is squeezed into 4:3, thus it looks like a standard definition picture with everything tall and skinny. All of the games are like this, as well as green game lineup that is shown when there is no game being shown.

 

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Intermittent cable box not working

Today my set top box has stopped working randomly. I cannot change anything through the remote or through the front of the box. A couple seconds to a couple minutes later everything is back to normal. My wife was on the phone with support and they attempted to reset the box three times and decided it was a bad box. She picked up a new one and we are still having the same problem. There is another cable box in the house that has been working just fine thought this whole time. Anyone have suggestions on where to start looking for this problem?

My fix was short lived. Earlier today I got system errors saying my list was not avalable and to try later. Then things came back up with my DVR that is affected renamed to DVR 1 and it sorta synced. Everything got updated with the exception of 12 Monkeys and The Strain. The exact two series recordings that I have had issues with for over a year. And of course new recordings were not showing up and as I wateched and deleted it did not update either.

I can only assume that since I have a support call in to Comtastic that someone ordered up a complete resync of my DVR. What is odd is in some ways it acted as a backup and not a resync. Either that of I caused a system error by all the manipulation I was doing to the box from work remotley. Anyhow to make a long story short I reformated again and deleted everyting off from My DVR since it still wasnt syncing and now it seems back to normal like it has been for the past couple days. At least series and reordings ordered up via. remote or web are getting synced back and forth, series priority list is correct and new recordings are showing up (for now). I haven't tested the IOS app yet other than verifying that it is correct also. Haven't ordered up any recordings or series from it yet. Once the guide populates I will try the next few from it.

Thank you for your answer! Yeah, that's a pity. I wish I could get rid of two remotes and keep only one around.

 

Maybe you know if there is any way to reprogram my TV's remote to make it work with Comcast? Or purchase some sort of universal remote that works with both TV and Comcast?

I personally use HARMONY Remotes for all of my TV's as they not only control the Comcast boxes, but also my Sound systems and BluRay players as well.  YMMV.
