missing local channels Denver May 2016

I left my TV and DVR on, recording on CH 7 (ABC).

I returned 1/2 hour later, to discover channels 1, 4, 7, 8 and 9 ... DISAPPEARED from the on-screen guide. I tried changing to these channels by inputting the number, directly.

NOTHING. These are the only channels missing. I cannot call up the missing channels, cannot VIEW the channels. They were THERE an hour ago. This is ODM, CBS, ABC, local access and NBC. WHAT is going on? WHEN will the REPAIR happen?

Hi Mscleo,

The remote you are using is a Comcast universal silver with Gray OK select button?

Mine did the same exact thing, the same channels were there one minute and now completely gone.

Just talked to support as I too am having this issue.  They said it is a local issue and it is being worked on.

How many programs will the DVR record at the same time?

I only have one cable box in our house.  Looking to kick out Direct tv and expand Xfinity.  Does Xfinity have wifi cable boxes in house so we don't have to have a cable cord go to every room we want a tv.  Direct TV has this option.

In case this info helps... We are missing many scheduled series recording on multiple DVRs and the missing ones all seem to tie to some of our local channels that also are showing up with lots of TBAs in the program guide and completely missing in the channel gude list in the xfi ios tv app. So may be tied and hopefully all gets fixed by CC in combinatin. See an earlier post that denver had/has? Local channel issue that is work by CC, still waiting in CC chat queue and leaning towards dropping off since it is well over 1/2 hr there.

Here too and multipke dvrs. Seems the missing recording setup entries te to a few local channels that also show issues in online program guide etc. hoping the fix will return our many scheduled shows, in denver if this helps. On hold for chat and so do not know anything officially here other than seeing an earlier email today that CC was working a local channel problem in our area.

Tech came and I gave him the info from this thread. He did not seem convinced about the MoCA filter and brushed me off by saying I already had one, even though I've never had X1. He spent 2 hours changing connectors and inspecting and re-doing the outside box and cables. I do not think he contacted anyone else and lacked curiosity about the issue.

Of course two hours after he left the problem returned. I guess I was not as lucky as the two others in this thread whose problems were solved. I'm back to waiting for a callback and constantly rebooting my DVRs.

Apologies for the issue and the experience that you described above. I have asked our Illinois area team to review your account and to work with you to get another tech scheduled.

Having the box reboot intermittently is not expected or intended and needs to be addressed. This could be a hardware issue (the box itself) or a local signal issue. Someone from our local team will review and contact you directly. Thanks for your patience.

DVR LOST ALL RECORDINGS AND STILL WONT RECORD PROPERLY?

The other day I went to watch some shows i previously recorded.... there was NO SHOWS! My DVR must have reset or something on its own. No shows were even in the dvr clean up part like it nothing was ever scheduled to be recorded or even deleted. As is that's not bad enough to lose about 75% space i had used with about 20 hours of Supernatural and 2 movies, along with other tv shows to be watched. I try and record another episode, which it does, only to say that I've used 80% of my dvr space!!!!!???? What the heck!?!? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! Btw I'm still on the regular comcast not X1.

Reboot the DVR by pulling power, let sit  10 seconds and then plug back in.  Allow the DVR to come online fully and check to see if your recorded asset list (recorded programs) has rebuilt itself.  If not, you may need to swap out your DVR.

Are you saying that a tech came to your house and did not know how to connect your cablebox? He left without it working?

Thanks for the reply. Just to clarify, the problem is NOT that the boxes are intermittently rebooting. They are losing the list of saved recordings. Manually rebooting brings the listings back but only for a few hours. Both boxes were perfect until 5/11/2016 when they both started losing the lists of recordings. It seems that rebooting one box causes the other to lose its listing. Because rebooting does temporarily relieve the issue I can watch my recordings, however because I am forced to constantly reboot, it's impossible to set a new recording very far into the future since both boxes have incomplete guide info due to the recent reboots.
